Clark Boyden Slade (92) passed away peacefully on September 8th, 2017 in Sandy, Utah.
Clark was born February 23, 1925 in Enterprise, Utah to Frank and Lillie Maud (Jones) Slade. He and his family lived in Central, Utah (Washington County). He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps (Airforce) in World War II and served in the 99th B-17 bomber group; flying many missions over the European theater. Clark married Jutta Koska in 1957; he and Jutta lived in the Fort Union area for 60 years while raising their family. Clark was employed by Kennecott Copper as skilled craftsmen for over 30 years and retired in 1985.
Clark was a loving father and husband. His love of God, Family and Country was exemplified in all that his did in life. He was very a very caring and humble man that put the needs of his family and others before his own. He was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish with his family. As craftsmen, he was known for his ability to fix anything and / or make something out of nothing - always working on various projects around the home. Clark was an active member of the LDS church and served in various callings.
Clark is survived by his wife Jutta and their four sons: Gordon (Linda) Slade, Jeff (Donette) Slade, Jim (Pam) Slade, Andrew (Marianne) Slade along with 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Clark is also survived by previous wife Wanda Chadburn (divorced) and children: Vicki, Rosemary, Doug and Georgia.
A viewing for close friends and family members will be held Thursday, September 14th at Goff Mortuary (Midvale, Utah) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Clark will be interred at Central, Utah cemetery. A graveside service will be held Friday, September 15th at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to go the National Parkinson’s Research Foundation in tribute to Clark’s valiant battle with this disease and hope for a cure.
