Lois LaNae (Glover) MabeyDecember 11, 1929 ~ April 12, 2017 (age 87)
Lois LaNae Glover Mabey was born December 11, 1929 in the Cottonwood Maternity Hospital in Murray, Salt Lake County, Utah. She was the oldest child of Leo James Glover and Effie Euzina Johnson.
She passed away on April 12, 2017 surrounded by her family. Lois served a LDS mission to the Western Canada Mission in 1951. She married Paul T. Mabey on May 28, 1953 (later divorced, but always remained friends). They had six children.
She served in many church callings and loved doing family history. She started working at a young age; working for the phone company, Tooele Army Depot and eventually retired from the Sacramento Army Depot.
Mother loved her family and loved to travel. She taught us unconditional love. She was a strong woman who always put others before herself. When times were hard we never wanted for what we needed. She often commented that she didn’t have much by the world’s standards but, she had the love of her family and friends and that was enough. She was an amazing example of determination, faith, strength, patience, and love. She did a lot with very little, and we are proud to have known her, and to have been loved by her.
We will miss her smile, her laugh and the way her presence increased the joy of any activity.
She is survived by her children: Valerie Price, Melanie Page, Leonard (Shelly) Mabey, Julie (David) Valadez, Doug Perry, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Cleo (Leo), Charles (Virginia), Arlene, LuDeen (LaMont), Lyle (Naomi), and Linda.
She was preceded in death by her brother Jay, her parents, daughter Paula Perry, son Gerrit, grandson Paul D., son-in-law Dutch Price and sister-in-law Sherrie Glover.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Murray City Cemetery, 5490 South Vine Street. There will be a viewing Saturday one hour prior to the services at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale.
You will always be our Sunshine!
The family would like to thank the staff at Rocky Mountain Care - Willow Springs for their kind and loving care of our mom and grandma, especially the nurses and aides of Grantsville Avenue.
