Colleen Joyce McGee Maynes Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Colleen Maynes, 91, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 2nd in Sandy, Utah. She died in the arms of her beloved husband Fred. Colleen was born on July 20th, 1930 in Draper, Utah to Ross and Elsie McGee and married Fredrick Maynes on September 10th, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. Colleen was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, having served in Primary, Cub Scouts, Young Women and Relief Society. She also served in the Jordan River Temple with her sweetheart Fred and as a ministering sister. Colleen enjoyed sewing, baking, canning, reading and counted cross stitch. She also loved to travel, but most of all, she loved her family. Colleen is survived by her husband Fred, sister Myrna (Kale) Smith, sons Mark, Kurt (Gillian), Brent (Betsy) Maynes, daughter Jolene (Dale) Tompkins and daughter-in-law Karen Maynes. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, four brothers, and son Kevin. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, July 14th, 2022 at the Granite Ward building located at 3100 E. Little Cottonwood Road, Sandy, Utah.
