Edith Mae Haskins

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Edith Mae Haskins. Edith left us while sleeping peacefully at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 1, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. She was 92 years old. Edith was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all of the lives she touched.

Edith was born in Colorado, Texas on March 15, 1930. She moved to Fresno, California when she was 9 years old. She married Doyle Haskins in 1948.

From the time that she was a young girl, Edith wanted to be a mother. She had a great love for all children and throughout her adult life she cared for many young children who adored her. Many stayed in contact with her after they had reached adulthood. She touched the lives of the children she tended and stayed in close contact with many of the families after the children were grown.

Edith was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she dedicated her life to the Lord and all his teachings.

Some of Edith’s hobbies were sewing dresses, costumes, doll clothes and quilts for her children and grandchildren, was an avid reader and loved reading novels and scriptures. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, having sleepovers, watching them play and watching the skits they would perform. One of her favorite traditions would be for everyone to gather at Astro Burger or Iceberg when family came to visit.

Most of all, she loved her family and friends and was an inspiration to all, with her loving heart, sweet spirit and infectious laugh. She made a lasting impact on everyone she met. She will be dearly missed and remain forever in our hearts.

Edith is survived by her children, James Haskins (Susana), Linda Stout (Lee), Deborah Haskins and Beckie Geiger, 19 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her mother Essie Ree Crow, her father Joel Thomas Crow, her brothers Dewey Crow and Joel Thomas Crow Jr., her husband Doyle Haskins, her son Mark Haskins, her granddaughter Lisa Rieffanaugh, her great grandson Lliam Codon Critchley and her great granddaughter Krystal Ogle.
