Glade Briggs

Dad joined Mom to continue their journey together on Sept. 30, 2022.
Dad was born on Feb. 3,1938 to Glen Lake and Edith Thora Briggs in Bingham Canyon UT.
Dad earned his diploma from Granite High School. From there he went to work as a Brakeman at Kennecott Copper Mine for 3 years. From there he worked for West Jordan City as a Building Inspector and maintenance from 1963 to 1983. He also worked for Salt Lake County Fire Department from 1963 to 1993 where he retired as Capt. in the Fire Prevention Division. Dad couldn't stay idle for very long, so he worked for his friend Dick Morgan operating heavy equipment for a few years
Dad loved camping, hunting, and fishing. He took his family on many adventures over the years. You could find Dad at Jim's or Virg's having coffee with his brothers and friends.
Dad married Mom on April 30, 1973. They were married for over 40 years.
Dad is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Sharon, and one son Steven Glade Briggs. Brothers Theron S and W. Melvin Briggs.
Dad is survived by his daughters, Carrie (Britt) McMurray, West Jordan. Cheryl (Mel) Rose, Herriman, Rochelle (John) Drabner, Alaska. Sons, Bryan (Jeanne), Dan Briggs, and Paul (Lainie) Briggs all of West Jordan. Brothers P. Clinton and A. Duane (Rita) Briggs and one sister Betty Lou Jensen. 17 grandkids, and 16 great grandkids.
As with our Mom, our Dad wouldn't have lived as long as he did without the sacrifice, love, and care of our sister Carrie. In the last 25 years you have shown all of us the true meaning of the word selfless. We love and thank you for taking care of Mom and Dad.
My Dad could build anything, he was the best shot, and he instilled values in his kids and grandkids that we still live by today... R.I.P. Dad, we love you.
There will be a viewing on Thursday at 12:00 noon at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State St. and a graveside service at West Jordan Cemetery At 1:30 p.m. 7800 So. 1300 W.
