James V. Jacobsen

Jimmy Jake, age 79, passed away on May 18, 2022, in Nephi surrounded by his family. He was born December 17, 1942, in Sanpete to Decima and Andrew Jacobsen.

James married Teresa Newell Jacobsen on June 28, 1969, and they spent 32 years together.

In his life, Jimmy Jake worked as a heavy equipment operator and served in the National Guard. Jim was a great two step dancer, a reader and a friend and mentor to many. He spent many adventurous years with Florence Smith by his side and loved chatting with his friends on his porch in Paradise.

The Ely horse races will never be the same without him.

He is survived by his children Kristi Mackle, Jamie Edwards, Mindy (Kris) Parkin, Clayton (Kami) Jacobsen; grandchildren Aj, Abbi, Teiya, Liam, Lily, Declan, Tayson, Maylee, Ruby and Millie; two great grandchildren, James and Addison; and his four-legged friend Mizery.

Jim is preceded in death by his wife Teresa, and his brothers Scott and Ron.

Jim will be honored with a celebration of life.
