Justen Lee Hendrickson

He lived a simple, loyal and positive life and loved with all his heart right up to his last breath.

Justen “Corndog” Lee Hendrickson, our husband, son, father, brother, grandfather and uncle passed away July 1, 2022, surrounded by his family after a 20-month valiant battle with esophageal cancer, but cancer didn’t take him, he called the shots and the time with a positive attitude. Despite the pain Justen was a hero, an example to many and stayed strong until the end.

Justen came in this world fighting on Oct. 22, 1973 after being born 8 weeks premature to Dale Kay Hendrickson and Debbie Lin Hendrickson. Justen Graduated from Hunter High School in 1992 and went on to take classes in architecture at Salt Lake Community College.

Justen’s career in the construction industry began at Standard Builders Supply in 1992 with his brother Chad and brother-in-law Joe. He made many friends while working there with his magnetic personality. This is where Justen began to learn the art and love for woodworking. He went on to work at Sunpro and then started his own businesses, Finish Pointe Enterprises and Divine Finish LLC.

Justen was a perfectionist as a consummate craftsman and took pride in his woodworking and finish work in homes and even had homes with his excellent work featured in the Salt Lake Parade of Homes.

To know Justen was to love him. If you were to ask anyone that knew him or crossed his path you’d hear what a loving, selfless, positive man he was. He greeted everyone with a smile and had a great sense of humor up to his last hours. He knew someone’s character at first introduction and never placed judgement on anyone.

Justen loved to be on the mountain hunting with is father, brother, son, brother-in-law and very close family friend Richie Stewart. Growing up he spent many summers at Flaming Gorge learning to fish on his parent’s boat which lead to a favorite pastime with his family, including his step-son, Gaylen and his grandson Wyatt.

In 2009 Justen met his soulmate, Mindy RaShell Daugherty, they later married on May 24, 2016. They were inseparable and Mindy was by his side every minute through his cancer journey.

Justen is survived by his wife Mindy, three children from a previous marriage Alexis Brittain (Ty) (27) of Provo, UT, Cameron Hendrickson (23) of Herriman, UT, Paige Hendrickson (18) of Gunnison, UT, and two step-children who he loved as his own Breanna Gibbons (Gaylen) of West Valley City, UT and Talon McKee of Los Angeles, CA, his sister and best friend Nicole Hackbarth and spouse Joe who he considered his brother, parents Dale Hendrickson (Joann Beauchamp) and Debbie Hendrickson (Dave Beltram), mother-in-law LaRee Daugherty. three grandchildren Wyatt Gibbons (3), Evie Lee (1), Wynnie Pooh Brittain (1), five brothers and sisters-in-laws, an aunt and numerous cousins. Justen was loved tremendously by his nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephew, close family friends Richie and Heather Stewart, and lifelong friend that he thought of as a sister Missie McKean (Dave).
