Melva Greer Wilson Scott

Melva Greer Wilson Scott was born January 3, 1924 in Provo, Utah to George Gilbert and Ila Lilly Wagstaff. She attended schools in Orem , Utah. She passed away April 29, 2022 in Nephi Utah. She married Thomas Woodrow Wilson July 28, 1942 and together they had five children He passed away January 17, 1959. She later married Byron Elwood Scott on May 4, 1964. He passed away on July 15, 2011. Melva and Byron were sealed in the Manti Temple.
Mom loved to crochet and was very talented, she made afghans for all of children and grandchildren. You were considered a friend if you received one.
Mom spent hours reading and she read numerous books. Reading was a great pass time and kept her busy when she wasn't crocheting.
Mom looked forward to spending winters in Quartzsite, Arizona and spending time with her many friends. Mom always was right by Byron's side, working on the farm and supporting all of her grandchildren whether it be playing sports or dancing.
She looked forward to their many fishing trips and you were always welcome to tag along.
Mom was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She looked forward to doing her Relief Society every month. Sunday dinners were a special time and she enjoyed spending time with her family.
At the time of her death she was living at Red Cliffs Assisted Living where she had many friends.
She is survived by a son Jim (Joan) Wilson, Ririe Idaho , daughters Jean (Edward) Elswood Eagle Mountain, Judy (Neils Jensen) Nephi, son in law Randy Pew Saint George and Beverly( Andy) Anderson Nephi. She also had 23 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren and 38 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Thomas Woodrow Wilson, Byron Elwood Scott ,daughter Carol Pew, daughter-in-law Carol Ann Wilson, one grandson, and two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 3, 2022 at 11:00 am with a viewing from 10:00 - 10:45 at the Nephi 4/5 Ward building 500 North 355 East Nephi Ut. Burial will be at the Vine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi, Utah.
