Our beautiful boy, Adrian Neal, died on August 9, 2026 and just celebrated his 20th birthday.
Adrian came into this world on July 24, 2006, bringing a thousand new beginnings with him. From the moment he arrived, he became a light in the lives of those who loved him. He remained that light throughout his life.
Adrian was simply the most fun to be with. He adored his kitty, a sunny day at the skatepark and fashion. You could find Adrian drinking chocolate milk like it was a food group and sharing his Mac n’ Cheese with his “child.”
His presence made ordinary moments feel important. It was always better when he was there.
His younger siblings adored him. To them, Adrian was larger than life—the funniest, coolest, and most wonderful person they knew. He was patient, gentle with them, and they knew they were loved. When Adrian laughed, when he shared his individuality with us, or when we were simply together soaking in the joy of having him near, our entire family felt more complete. It was complete.
Adrian carried so much love within him, and he gave it away freely. He saw people. He cared about them. His kindness did not depend on who they were or what they could give him in return.
We told Adrian that we loved him. He knew he was loved. But we do not think he could have possibly understood how desperately he was loved—how deeply his existence had woven itself into ours, or how completely our futures had come to include him.
He is our son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Death cannot undo those things. That has not changed simply because Adrian died. We still love him, but there is nowhere for all this love to go now, so we carry it. We carry it into every morning he should have awoken, every birthday he should have celebrated, and every ordinary day in which we expected him to remain somewhere in our world.
We still want to tell him about the things that happen. We still want to hike Timp with him this fall and time ourselves on Lake Blanche. He was teaching his brother to ride a scooter. The list goes on.
We want more time with the person he was, and we ache for the person he was still becoming.
Adrian was supposed to have decades. He was supposed to grow older alongside us. There should have been more laughter, more conversations, more discoveries, and more chances to tell him how proud we were of him. There was a life waiting for him.
His death has changed our lives and every future we once imagined. But it has not ended our love for him. Love does not disappear when the person we love is no longer here to receive it. It remains—aching, reaching, and remembering. It becomes part of how we continue to live.
Adrian is survived by his mother, Mickenzey Neal; his father, Brian Hunt; his stepfather, Bradon Yates; his girlfriend and love, Adelyn Gingell; and his siblings, Gabriel Hunt, Gray Hunt, Nevaeh Latimer, Halo Hunt, Raidyn Hunt, Avery Hunt, Evalynn Hunt, Ryelynn Yates, and Saige Yates. Adrian was part of a large, loving blended family and is also survived by his many grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing him. He is preceded in death by his uncle, Jason Hughes “Goose.”
A viewing will be held on August 15th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North in Nephi, Utah.
A celebration of Adrian’s life will follow from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the large pavilion at Nephi City Park, where light refreshments will be served. In the event of inclement weather, the celebration will instead be held at his mother’s home in Nephi.
Adrian, my sweet boy, my first born. The day you died... I died alongside you. Who I was that day remains with you.
I love you, I love you, I love you. I am yours and you are mine. Love, forever and always, Mom.
