Alan passed away surrounded by loved ones after a heroic, however brief battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Peter Hoyne and Diane Dumas Hoyne. He is survived by his wife Wendy Zaharias Hoyne, his daughter Jessica Del Hoyne Stephens (husband Kenneth Stephens), his sister Tracy Hoyne Sanchez (husband Eloy Sanchez), his brother Dennis Peter Hoyne (wife Julie Pitts Hoyne) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
His daughter was the light of his life, and no one could have been a prouder father. Alan loved the kids, often at family gatherings he hung out with the kids and loved to toss them around to hear them squeal and laugh. He always had candy to entice those that were shy as he was determined to be the favorite uncle.
Alan worked for Midvale City public works for 32 years. He was known as the one you could count on to do physical work and tell you the truth whether you wanted or enjoyed hearing it.
Alan was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing as often as possible. The thing that he loved most about the game was being with friends and “coaching” his wife on the course. Most of their vacations were centered around golf with their best friends.
He was admired for his strength and athletic ability, loved for his hidden kindness, and adored by his wife and daughter.
Viewing to be held at Goff Mortuary in Midvale on May 7th from 6 pm to 8 pm. The graveside service will be on May the 8th in Declo, Idaho at 11 am.
