.Annabel Gonzales, 77, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones at her home on March 5, 2026, in Midvale, Utah. Born on March 21, 1948, in Del Norte, Colorado, Annabel lived a life enriched with love, faith, and dedication to her family and friends.
A proud high school graduate of the class of '88, Annabel exemplified hard work and commitment throughout her life. She spent over a decade as a people greeter at Walmart, where her warm smile and kind demeanor touched those around her. She also worked at Ballard Medical where she made many friends.
Annabel's faith was central to her life as a devoted member of St. Therese Catholic Church. Her generous spirit shone through in everything she did. She found joy in cooking for loved ones and going out to eat. She had a kind heart and delighted in caring for others, frequently bringing food to family as a way of sharing her love. Music brought her great happiness—she loved singing and dancing, often lifting the spirits of those around her. Shopping was another passion she enjoyed, always finding thoughtful ways to bring joy to others.
Her family was the heart of her world. Annabel is survived by her daughter Josie Gonzales Young; stepchildren Yvonne Gonzales and Frankie Gonzales; siblings Gloria Vigil and Ben Vigil; numerous nieces and nephews; and grandchildren who will forever treasure their memories of her. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Arnold Gonzales; parents Laura and Harold Vigil; brothers Rick Vigil (Teresa) and baby Lawrence Vigil; and stepson Michael Gonzales.
Annabel’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and unwavering kindness. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported and cared for our loved one throughout her journey. We extend special thanks to Dr. Stephen Wood for his compassionate care; the dedicated team at Canyon Home Care & Hospice; her wonderful physical therapist, Cole Hunsaker of Refined Home Health; the caring staff at Fresenius Kidney Care for their kindness, professionalism, and support; and Rides for Wellness for their dependable transportation and assistance.
