Arnold John Dyson

Arnold Dyson, 82, passed away at his home in Murray December 8, 2023. Arnold was born November 11, 1941 in Birmingham England to Samuel and Lilian Dyson. Arnold married Carolyn Gygi on August 25, 1967 in the Salt Lake City Temple. Arnold emigrated from England in 1952 to the United States. Arnold served in the army in the Vietnam conflict in San Francisco area, after which he went to the University of Utah and received a degree in Art.

While at the U he met and fell in love with Carolyn. After graduation he started working at the University Printing Services. He worked there until he retired in 2007. Arnold was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ and had many callings throughout his life. He served under three bishops and in countless teaching positions where he used his art work to help illustrate the message.

He was a wonderful father and grandfather. He was always there for this children and grandchildren to listen to whatever their concerns were and provide words of encouragement, hugs and puns.

Preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Lilian Dyson, brother Mark, and sister Mary. He is survived by his brother David and sister Margaret, wife Carolyn, children Kerwin (Kelli) Dyson, Stephanie Christensen, grandchildren AJ Dyson, Reilly (Carsen) Owen, Makenzie Dyson, Griffen Christensen, and Avery Christensen.

The family would like to thank Active Hospice for the wonderful care and kindness they showed our dad, especially Casen, Holly, Mindy, Zac, Michael and Dr. Rachel Stubbs. 

Funeral services will be held at the Midvale North Stake Center on 97 West 7500 South in Midvale Friday, December 15, 2023 at 11 am with a viewing one hour prior to the services.
