Bernice Boswell Swasey, born May 17, 1934, passed away suddenly February 25, 2023 in her home. Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Bernice was born in Mount Emmons, Utah to Volney Burdell Boswell and Esther Chase Boswell. She was the sixth child of eight children. Bernice attended Altamont High School, where she was in the Twirlers for the High School Band. She was also the Queen of the Golden Green Ball in Mount Emmons Ward Mutual.

In July 1953 Marvin proposed and Bernice contemplated the proposal for a week before saying yes. On August 9, 1953 Marvin, Bernice, Nedra (her sister) and Richard (Nedra's boyfriend) went for rootbeer floats and ended up in Elko, Nevada and got married. On October 9, 1953 Marvin and Bernice were sealed in the Temple for time and all eternity.

Marvin and Bernice had 3 sons, Martin, Todd and Curtis. They settled down in Murray, Utah where Bernice worked as a judges clerk for Murray City and Marvin as a wood working teacher at the junior high school. Later they built their Almosta Ranch in Boneta, Utah and purchased a trailer home in Hurricane, Utah. Marvin and Bernice loved the family reunions, boating, camping and all traveling. After Marvin passed away Bernice moved to Murray, Utah with her son.

Bernice loved to cook, sew, quilt, craft and travel but most of all she loved her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids so very much. She loved to play cards with her sisters Faye and Anne, cousin Carol, her daughters-in-law Deanna and Jeneane, her granddaughter Morgan. She would gladly teach anyone hand and foot but beware she was definitly a card shark. Bernice always loved flowers around her.

Special, Thank you to her grandaughter Morgan Swasey and her son Curtis for taking such great care of her these last few years with so much love, and enabeling her to stay at home. Thank you to Intermountain Hospice Team and her wonderful visiting teachers for taking time each Sunday to give her grace.

Bernice is survied by her sisters, Esther Anne Clark and Faye Jean Milburn, sons, Martin (Julie) Swasey, Todd Swasey, Curtis (Georgeann) Swasey, daughters-in-law, Debbie Swasey, Deanna Brasher, Jeneane Swasey, Jan Morrison, 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.

She was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Marvin Swasey , parents Volney Burdell Boswell and Esther Chase Boswell, siblings Alta Cook, Fern Snow, Leslie Chase Boswell, Elvin Ray Boswell and Arlene Clark.

Viewing will be held from 10:00am-11:45am Friday, March 3, 2023 followed by funeral at 12:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ, 5750 S Nena Way, Murray, Utah 84107.

Grave dedication will take place at Mountain Home-Boneta Cemetery when weather conditions will allow.
