Betty Lou Backus Park

Betty Lou Backus Park was born in Orem, Utah February 1, 1928 to James and Lula Mae Backus. She was the third of ten children: Afton, Dee, Betty, Ron, LaMar, Rex, Bonnie, Karen, Judy, Bob. Growing up with five brothers and four sisters was an experience that shaped her into the remarkable woman she became.

Betty married Lyle Harper Park on December 18, 1947. They were sealed in the Manti Temple on December 18, 1963. They were married for 63 years before Lyle’s passing on February 25, 2010. They had three Daughters: Terrie Ann (Greg) Kretchmer, Suzanne (DeLoy) Davis, and Denise (Clyde) Roach. Betty found immense joy and purpose in her family, pouring her love and creativity into the lives of her children and grandchildren. Sadly, Terrie Ann and Denise preceded Betty in death, leaving a poignant void.

Betty had 15 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Betty's passing on December 24, 2023, marks the conclusion of a life characterized by service, hard work, creativity, and love. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew her to live with the same dedication and passion that defined her remarkable life.

Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints chapel, 1150 East 1240 South Spanish Fork, Utah, 84660 on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Viewing to precede one hour prior.
