Beverly June Rasmussen

Our loving mother and grandmother, Beverly June (Willoughby) Rasmussen, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 2nd, 2022. Beverly was born June 13, 1934 to Vern and Beulah (Winters) Willoughby in Hoytsville, Utah. She grew and flourished in Coalville where she met the love of her life, enjoyed dances, singing and sports. She went on to graduate from North Summit High School class of 1952.

Beverly married her high school sweetheart, Lee Edward Rasmussen, December 16th 1953. They began their family in Coalville and later settled in Holladay, Utah, where their family and love continued to grow. She loved being a homemaker; cooking, sewing and spending time with their children in their darling home on Wander Lane. In the summer of 1967 Lee suffered a tragic and life altering electrocution that nearly took his life. Beverly loved him through his recovery and went to work to support the family.

In 1969 she began her 40 year career with the Utah State Retirement Office in Salt Lake City. She started as a clerk and retired as Director of Member Services. She enjoyed her work and even continued to work part time for several more years. Beverly and Lee enjoyed raising their seven children and improving their home in Holladay. It was common to find them tending the yard and garden together. They also enjoyed many travels with their children around the world. Beverly served in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life in various callings. She particularly enjoyed family history work. Beverly loved being a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was enthusiastic about sharing our heritage and family history with her children and grandchildren.

Beverly loved her husband, her children, grandchildren, and the gospel. She lived her life in harmony with the teachings of our Savior. As President Joseph F. Smith said, "The love of a mother comes nearer [to] being like the love of God than any other kind of love." We were so fortunate to have been raised in her love.

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband Lee Rasmussen, her daughter Brenda Potter, and her granddaughters Tiffany Rasmussen and Baby Luna, her sister Barbara Roemmich (Ed)-(Hoytsville), brothers Roger Willoughby-(Coalville) and John Willoughby-(Coalville). She is survived by her children: LeeAnn Rudd (Lee)-(Coalville), Danny Rasmussen (Lynda)-(Sandy), Brett Rasmussen (Joni)-(Coalville), Suzanne Beck (Reed)-(Midway), Lisa Whitney (Chris)-(Salt Lake City) and Cody Rasmussen (Kamie)-(Seattle), as well as 21 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren, and her sister Cathy Friery (Ed)-(Coalville).

A viewing will be held Friday, March 11, 2022 at 9:30 AM with funeral services to follow at 11 AM in the Holladay 28th Ward Building, 2625 Milo Way, Holladay, UT 84117. Interment, Coalville Cemetery, Coalville, UT.
