Brandi Lynn Dietz

Brandi Lynn Dietz, 28, of West Valley City, passed away on August 25, 2026. She was born in Salt Lake City to Eric Dietz and Sheri Bangerter and was their sweet little “punkin.” She grew up in Spokane and the Salt Lake Valley.

From an early age, Brandi was known for her bubbly personality, spunky spirit, determination, and kindness. She had a way of bringing energy and warmth wherever she went.

Brandi graduated from Hunter High School in 2016. She found great joy in her work at the Hilton Garden Inn and took pride in the relationships and experiences she made along the way. She was a wonderful mother to her sweet boys, Xander and Lucas, and loved nothing more than being their mom. She also loved to cook, listen to music, dance, read poetry, and enjoyed favorites such as Mean Girls and The Fault in Our Stars.

Though Brandi’s life was far too short, she filled those years with love, laughter, determination, and countless memories that will remain with everyone who knew and loved her. Her bright personality and loving heart will be deeply missed.

Brandi is survived by her parents, Eric Dietz and Sheri Bangerter; her siblings, Edward Dietz, Shaylyn Smedley, Heather Smedley, Kira (Josh) Ariotti; her children, Xander Reed Hamelin and Lucas Spencer Hamelin; her partner, Matthew Hamelin; and her grandmothers, Meredith Anne Dietz and Sharon Moon Bangerter. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers Jacob Martin Dietz and Charles Reed Bangerter.

A viewing will be held Tuesday, September 1, at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale from 9:30–10:30 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at West Jordan City Cemetery immediately following the services.

In lieu of flowers, donations to help cover funeral expenses and provide for Xander and Lucas would be deeply appreciated. Contributions of any amount will go directly toward those expenses and helping the children through this difficult time.

For those who are unable to contribute financially, prayers, love, and support for the family are equally appreciated.

Although Brandi’s life was far too short, the love she gave and the memories she created will remain with us forever.
