Brent K Lyon, born January 14, 1949 in Manti, Utah to Lester R Lyon and Margrie Lyon, passed away peacefully November 7, 2025. Brent was a devoted husband, loving father, adoring grandfather and a proud veteran.
He married his sweetheart of 56 years, Patricia Ann Grames, and together they had four daughters and shared a beautiful life. Brent is survived by his wife, Patricia, his children, Danielle (Rodney), Melissa (Todd), Tiffany (Ryan), and Tricia (Brandon), as well as his 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and brother and best friend, Gary (Lucy) Stearman.
Brent served his country proudly, including his honorable service during the Vietnam War and then for 42 years as an Apache helicopter mechanic in the U.S. Army as well as Sergeant in the Utah National Guard. His years spent in the military were some of his happiest times. Brent loved his country.
Brent was a talented and skilled craftsman. He built homes, and beautiful furniture with his dad. He continued to make beautiful things throughout his life. Whether he was decorating a cake for one of his daughters’ birthday or helping with a house project for his wife or girls, his skill was detailed and beautiful. Known for his remarkable ability to fix things just enough to make them work, he was always the go-to person for all repairs and an endless source of handyman knowledge. Brent loved sharing his skills and wisdom with his son-in-laws and anyone willing to learn.
Brent’s greatest joy in life above all was his family. He was magical with babies. He would whisper of all the things they would do together as the babies would listen intently on his words. If there was a baby to hold, he was first in line. Holding his own baby girls brought so much joy into his life. He was a proud father. Nothing could put a smile on his face like seeing one of his grandkids. He adored them. If there was a sports game, performance or competition to attend he was there in the front row. While his Hawaiian shirts were a signature look, the shirts he wore most proudly were those bearing the team names of his beloved grandchildren.
A passionate outdoorsman, Brent enjoyed fishing, camping, football and following his beloved BYU Cougars.
His warmth, humor, and talent for fixing anything will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
