Bruce Edward Zimmermann, born January 14, 1942, in Fargo, North Dakota, passed away peacefully at home on May 26, 2026, in Lehi, Utah, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the son of Lloyd and Lillian Zimmermann.
Bruce married the love of his life, Mary Jo (Stuart) Zimmermann, on August 17, 1962, and together they built a life centered on family, hard work, service, and love. He is survived by his children: Elizabeth Zimmermann, Craig (Tammy) Zimmermann, Wendy (Gerald) Jeppson, and Matthew (Neely) Zimmermann, along with 18 beloved grandchildren and 24 precious great-grandchildren.
Bruce proudly served in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1965. Following his military service, he became a skilled locksmith, owning both locksmith shops and a mobile business where he was always willing to lend a helping hand to others in need.
An expert woodworker, Bruce created countless beautiful pieces of furniture for his wife, children, and grandchildren—gifts that will continue to hold treasured memories for generations. He loved fishing, spending time with family, and being of service to others.
Bruce was also dedicated to his community through his service with the Prunedale Lions Club and was instrumental in founding the Watsonville Strawberry Festival, helping raise funds to provide glasses for children in need.
Bruce was known for his quick wit, strong opinions, and love of a good debate. His family will deeply miss the conversations, laughter, and spirited discussions that made him uniquely Bruce.
Bruce is survived by his sister, Mary Hardy; sister-in-law, Marge Zimmermann; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Ralph Zimmermann; his beloved in-laws, Tom and Jenny Stuart; and his precious granddaughter, Jade Lillian Zimmermann.
The family will be holding a private viewing on May 28, 2026 at 4:00 PM and a private celebration of life on June 7, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Hidden Valley Country Club.
