Calvin Harold Barber

Calvin Harold Barber, 65, passed away on April 21, 2026. He was born on August 13, 1961, to Harold Barber and Arline Barber.

Cal spent 35 years working for Rio Tinto (Kennecott Copper), where he built a long and dedicated career. On January 30, 1995, he married Barbara in West Jordan, Utah.

A man of few words, Cal preferred the quiet of the woods to the noise of the city. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who felt most at home outdoors, whether on the water or in the mountains. He had a knack for finding the best fishing spots and especially enjoyed quiet mornings on the lake. A lifelong outdoorsman, he was truly at home in the wild.

Cal is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter Wendy Mille (Ryan); son Clayton Bailey; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his mother, Arline Barber; sister Lisa Schoenfeld (Bill); two nephews, and two great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Barber, and his son, Justin Bailey.

Cal’s family would like to thank Adam Terry/Rio Tinto and the staff at Intermountain Hospital for their compassion and care.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on May 9, 2026, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at River community church, at 1098 South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan Ut.
