Carol Nyman Lewis

Carol Nyman Lewis passed away peacefully on Jan. 31, 2023. She went home to be with her loving Heavenly Father and was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Mae Nyman, and son Matthew.

She is survived by her loving husband and sweetheart of 61 years, Glenn C. Lewis. She’s lovingly remembered by their children Loralee, Brian, (Matt), Natalie, son-in-law Ben, grandchildren Laran, Kallie, Jillian, Christian, Mason, Jaden, Megan, and Lanie, and great grandchildren Izayah, Camilla, Nico, and Jaycie.

She was born on May 28, 1939 in Logan, Utah, but lived in Fillmore, and raised in Nephi, Utah.

Carol loved school and learning, she was the valedictorian of her high school class. She worked for the newspaper and loved helping her dad in the bank.

She was an excellent seamstress. She sewed for many people, including her family, and spent many hours on doll clothes and selling them.

She was a fun, loving, devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend.

She loved being outside. That was her happy place. She had a special love for flowers, and enjoyed working in her own flower beds. She had a gift for recognizing beauty all around her.

She served as a service missionary on Temple Square for 15 years. She took care of the flower beds and gave guided tours, in which she took much pride.

She loved her family. Her oldest daughter is deaf. She made many sacrifices by taking her to Primary Children’s Hospital daily, along with a wonderful speech therapist for 18 years.

She was very dedicated to serving and loving others. She had many church callings. She enjoyed Young Women’s, and teaching Primary.

She had a very fun, happy, bubbly personality and loved teasing others. She loved talking and visiting with others.

She loved her sweetheart of many years. He did an excellent job of devoting his time and energy of taking care of his wife for the past decade.

A special thank you for all the love and care provided by Pheasant Run.

This is not a goodbye, it’s a thank you for all you’ve done as a daughter, wife, mother and friend. We will cherish the many memories. We love you.

The viewing will be Feb. 3, 2023 from 6-8 pm at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, Utah.

The funeral will be Feb. 4, 2023 at 11 am, with a viewing at 10 am, at the LDS Church at 7250 South 300 East in Midvale, Utah.
