Carol Ann Marie "Lela" Tatro

Carol Tatro, loving sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt and friend passed away May 20, 2025 at Utah Valley Hospital surrounded by her family due to complications from pneumonia and septic shock. Carol was born August 25,1962 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph Michael and Rose Marie Bartmanowicz. She grew up in Chicago until she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1978 where she met the love of her life, Joe Tatro. She graduated from West High School in 1981 and was married June 18, 1982.

Carol was a kid at heart, so compassionate, loving, and caring.

In 2005, Carol moved to Sandy, Utah and lived with her brother, Richard and sister-in- law, Sandra Krok. Carol volunteered much of her time working at Intermountain Handicap Workers. In 2010, Carol helped form a new company called Disabled Workers of Utah. She loved meeting so many people.

Carol was a member of the Adventure Four Square Church, which she frequently attended. She loved living life and she loved the Lord. Everyone that she would meet fell in love with her. Carol’s smile and laugh brightened anyone’s day.

Survived by her brother, Richard (Sandra) Krok, sister Margie Knowlton, brother, Joe (Shelly) Bartmanowicz, and many cherished nieces, nephews and many friends.

Proceeded in death by her parents and wonderful husband.

God watched you as you suffered and knew you had had your share. He gently closed your eyes and took you home to be with him, where you are not in pain, but now you are at peace.

Carol, even with the challenges you faced in your life, you always approached life with grace, love and such a positive spirit. You were a true inspiration. We will always remember your warm smile, your wonderful sense of humor, and the way you always made us laugh.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 6th,2025 at Midvale City Cemetery 471 6th Avenue, Midvale at noon. Following the graveside service, friends and family will join in a Celebration of Life Lunch to remember our sweet Carol. The lunch will be held at Joe and Shelly Bartmanowicz home. 982 E Violet Drive, Sandy at 1:00pm.
