Charles Ronald Walker

Charles Ronald Walker passed away January 18, 2022 due to complications from an accident. He was born to Ronald Frampton Walker and Amy Wardle on February 18, 1936 at his grandma's house in Union, Utah. He graduated from Jordan High School where he met his sweetheart Nancy Ann Greene whom he married January 19, 1956.

Charlie was an electrician by vocation and a servant of his fellowman by advocation. As an electrician, he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over sixty years. He also taught first aid while working as an electrician at Kennecott Copper, Southwire and Deer Valley Resort. His civic service included over thirty years as a volunteer member and an officer of the Lehi Auxiliary Police/Ambulance Association, becoming one of the first Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) in the state. He was the first EMT in the state to receive a thirty-year service award. He went on to become an EMT instructor as well as a CPR instructor for the Utah Heart Association. He taught CPR in high schools, churches, civic organizations, colleges, universities and to police officers throughout the state of Utah, and even to doctors in emergency rooms. Charlie worked with the Utah County Sheriffs Department and Uinta National Forest to help found the Timpanogos Emergency Rescue Team (TERT) where he served for over thirty years. He loved setting-up mock rescue situations for training EMT's and had humorous stories to tell about the results.

One of his greatest loves was serving in the Timpanogos Temple for twenty-three years, and he has no doubt gone on to continue his service on the other side of the veil.

Charlie loved riding his horses, singing in the church choir, hiking, cooking Dutch oven food, and camping with his kids and grandkids.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Nancy Ann Greene Walker; his children Deborah Jean Walker, John Robert & Gaile Walker, Barbara Ann & Russ Hollingshead, David Charles & Naghieli Walker. He was proceeded in death by his children Peggy Irene Walker and Pamela Jane Scott. He has twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and more on the way.

He is also survived by his siblings Effie (Glen) Irish, LeRoy Walker, Stephen (Carolyn) Walker, Rela Lennberg, and Pearl (Anthony) Russo.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22 at 11:00 am at the Lehi 18th Ward, 1364 West 1870 North, Lehi, Utah 84043. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the services. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
