Cheryl Ann Glissmeyer Ovard

Cheryl Ann Glissmeyer Ovard, 75, took her last breath July 2, 2022 at 12:03 am, surrounded by love and laughter, after fighting a long battle of breast cancer in her home in Henefer.

She was born April 13, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Paul and Donna Glissmeyer and was the oldest of 9 children. Her love of dancing began at the age of 4, she started teaching at age 16, she studied dance at University of Utah and continued sharing her passion of dance all over the world.

April 20, 1967 she married and was sealed to her love Brent George Ovard, in the LDS Salt Lake Temple in Utah.

Cheryl was a mother and teacher to all and welcomed the world into her home through dance and the exchange student program. She was the editor of the Summit County News, where she shared her love of writing and photography. Working with the children in the primary was one of her favorite callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
