Christopher B. Hansen

Christopher B. Hansen, age 52, passed away on July 14, 2025. Born on August 4, 1972, Chris was the youngest child of Gerald and Dianne Hansen.

He was raised in a loving home along side his siblings, Holly Smith (Shane), Penny Rawlins, Jerry Hansen (Becky), and David Hansen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Dianne, and by his sister Sandra, who was stillborn.

Chris was known for his wit, funny remarks, and often-inappropriate sayings that made everyone laugh. His grin and sense of humor remained a constant throughout his life—often displayed proudly on his T-shirts, which frequently featured clever or cheeky phrases.

He loved to tease those he was closest to, and his playful spirit made him a favorite among his nieces and nephews—always trying to get away with something and making them feel seen and included. He had a remarkable way of connecting with children, meeting them at their level. Chris was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need, especially family and close friends.

Chris was incredibly hardworking and deeply valued the friendships he built throughout his career. He especially cherished Maria, Yuli, and their families, who became like family to him and whom we are so grateful for. Known for his dedication and reliability, Chris served as a manager at 7-Eleven and later at Trufitt, where he played a vital role in training and overseeing store operations.

Chris was a devoted son who cared for his parents with compassion and selflessness during their later years. He once shared that losing his father felt like losing his best friend—a loss that left a lasting impact.

While Chris stepped away from church for a time, his love for the Savior, Jesus Christ, never left him. He often spoke of his desire to draw closer to Christ, he wrestled to see his worth. We pray that now he can surrender his weaknesses and feel the peace he longed for. That he sees himself as his Savior always did, and is welcomed by His embrace.

Chris leaves behind a legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love. He was deeply cherished by his family and friends and will be missed more than words can express.

A graveside service will be held at Valley View Memorial on Saturday, August 2nd at 11:00am at Valley View Cemetery, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City.
