Christy Ault

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Christy May Ault, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the age of 71. Christy was born to Jerry and Amy Lue May on January 26, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The oldest of three children, she grew up in Midvale, Utah and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1971. She was sealed to her high school sweetheart, James Owen Ault, on June 22, 1973 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were the ultimate example of true love and built a beautiful life together. They were blessed with 4 children & 18 grandchildren. A dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Christy served many years as Primary President and a counselor in the Stake Relief Society.

She devoted her life to her family, showing us what it means to love unconditionally. Motherhood was her greatest joy and top priority. She was our biggest fan, attending every game, concert and performance.

Christy was known for her infectious laugh and was a light to all who knew her. Nothing made her happier than family trips to Disneyland and Snowbird. We’ll always remember dancing with her down Main Street and riding Guardians over and over again.

In 2012, Christy was the recipient of a liver transplant. We are forever grateful for the miracle that gave us so many more years with her.

She was a gifted seamstress and blessed those around her with her many talents, especially her beautiful singing voice. She enjoyed crafts, decorating and recently discovered a love of ziplining.

Jim and Christy were able to travel the world, including a Caribbean cruise in 2023 with all their kids and grandkids to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. She had just returned from an Alaskan cruise on Monday, the day before her passing. We’re all so happy she was able to have one last adventure with her sweetheart. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for a loving Heavenly Father & his perfect plan of happiness. Because of His son, Jesus Christ, we know we will see her again.

Christy is survived by her dear husband Jim, children, Joshua Ault (Tammy), Andrew Ault (Jennie), Samantha Hoffman (Samuel) and Jesse Ault (Aubry) and grandchildren, Oliver (Alhana), Isaac, CJ, Hollie, Abram, Ethan, Malerie, Whitley, Joel, Meric, Brynn, Kenzie, Vanessa, Delsa, Eliana, Calvin, Luke & Clara, her sister Jodi Maxfield (Scott), brother Jim May (Diana). She is preceded in death by her parents, Jerry & Amy Lue May, and her grandparents.
