Cyril Kinane

Cyril Kinane, 95, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 3 am peacefully in his own home while in his favorite reclining chair, in Sandy, Utah.

He was born on March 20, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Mary and Jim Kinane. Cyril married the love of his life, Josephine Mary Campagna in Chicago, Illinois on November 24, 1951.

He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army.

Cyril (Cy) attended the University of Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy, Rolla, Missouri, graduating with a bachelor of science in mining engineering.

After working for such companies as Barber- Greene, designing conveyor belt systems, he and Josephine started their own business, Kinane Engineering, providing comprehensive design work for many mining companies and were partners for over 30 years until her passing.

Cyril was a dedicated swimmer who taught all his 10 children to swim. He loved music, dancing, canoeing, biking and especially fishing. Taking his RV and his fishing boat to many National Parks across the country seeking out adventures during his travels. He was always a good listener and the best story teller. His laugh was contiguous and was always the life of the party.

Survived by his children, Mary Ann, Joan, Yvonne, Pat, Joe, Josephine, Cyril, Jim and Ann, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and brother Andy Kinane (Salley) and Mercedes O'Connor.

Preceded in death by his wife Josephine, his daughter JoAnn Kinane Corley and his sister Mary Ellen Lash.

There will be a viewing Sunday, June 4 from 5- 7PM at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, Utah.

Funeral services will be held at 11am at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 9757 South 1700 East, Sandy, Utah with viewing one hour prior to mass. Interment will be at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
