David Scott Anderson

October 12, 1984 — April 8, 2024

David Scott Anderson

David Scott Anderson left his earthly home and returned to his Heavenly Father on April 8, 2024. Dave was born on October 12, 1984 to Jeff and Karen Anderson in Pasadena, CA. He was the third of eight children (2 sisters and 5 brothers). From the moment he entered the world, Dave quickly captured hearts and earned the endearing title of “the cutest baby" from his mother—a distinction he held proudly and often reminded his siblings of.

Dave loved his family and nothing made him happier than spending time with his siblings, nieces, nephews and son. He often showed his love through teasing. You knew he loved you if he teased or pranked you.

As a child Dave was charming and often mischievous, resulting in him blazing his own trail.

Dave took a path in life that few can take and remain unscathed. Through this journey, Dave was often forced to adopt a hardened exterior. But for all who knew him, knew that beneath the surface was a compassionate soul—one quick to laugh, quick to love, and quick to serve. Through his life’s experiences, Dave developed a special kind of empathy and love towards the outcast, downtrodden, and forgotten. Oftentimes, he was the first to offer refuge, give the shirt off his back, or even the last of his food to those in need. He truly exemplified Christlike selflessness in so many ways.

Dave was a momma’s boy at heart. When life got a little too hard, he knew he could always come home for a warm meal, an encouraging conversation, and a nap on the couch. The day before he passed, he went to get his haircut and beard trimmed so he would “look good for his mom”, who he was planning to see in a few days.

Dave’s ultimate source of pride was his son Corbin. He strove to be the best father possible. During periods of darkness, it was the desire to make Corbin proud that gave him the courage and strength to battle his demons.

There was a period of years when Dave wasn’t physically able to be with his family. During these years, his dad would always create a space in any family picture to represent where Dave would’ve been standing. It was so joyous when the gap was filled with Dave. With his death, we’ll once again keep a space for Dave, a space that will never be filled in this lifetime. We have faith that in a coming day, we will be reunited with our son, brother, uncle and Father. We look forward to the day when we can all be together again.

David is survived by his parents Jeff and Karen, his older sister Emilee (John) Hulet, older brother Steven (Carly) Anderson, and his younger siblings Reid (Jessica) Anderson, Brian, Michael, Sarah, and Bradford Anderson, along with his 17 nieces and nephews Jeffry, Haylee, Landon, Carter, Andie, Ellery, Cooper, Taylor, Lyla, Max David, Brynlee, Luke, Ben, Kennedy, Tommy, Collins, and Scout. Lastly his son, his pride and joy, Corbin Dee Michael Kunz.

Dave was preceded in death by his Grandma and Grandpa Hatch, his Uncle Jerry, his Aunt Laura, his Uncle Curtis, and his loyal 4 legged companions - Hades, Atara, and Sansa.
