David Carwin Ostler, 65, of Midvale, UT, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 19, 2026. Born on July 20, 1961 to Orvill and Shirley Ostler, David lived a life defined by a love of family, generosity, quiet strength, kindness and a deep appreciation for the natural world.
David grew up in Midvale Utah where he graduated from Jordan Hight School. David was a hard worker and had many jobs, but he spent the majority of his career at ALSCO where he was a successful route salesman. David was always spending his hard earned money on ways to bring his family together. He found joy in the outdoors with his family. Whether he was riding on trails, boating on lakes, camping under the stars or simply spending time surrounded by nature. The beauty and tranquility of the outdoors brought him happiness throughout his life.
Though he never married or had children of his own, David was a devoted son, brother, uncle and friend. He shared a close bond with his 3 sisters and 4 brothers, and was a proud and loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews who were practically his children. He celebrated their accomplishments, offered encouragement and support, and created lasting memories that will be treasured for years to come.
David will be remembered for his hard work ethic, sense of humor, patience, adventurous spirit and devotion to those he loved. He had a way of turning moments into memories; and his presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
David was preceded in death by his father Orvill, mother Shirley, sister Debbie, sister-in-law Clare and nephew Paul. We all know he had the most joyous reunion in heaven by the many people who loved him. We are o grateful he is no longer in pain and is free from the trials of this life.
He is survived by his beloved siblings, Lynn (Clare), Denise, Brent (Teresa), Robert, Kevin (Linda) and Lori (Gary), along with his many nieces and nephews. All of whom will miss him deeply and remember hi lovingly.
A private family celebration of David’s life will be held on Monday, July 27th; interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
