Debbie Watts-Powelson, 68, passed away peacefully at her home in Draper, Utah, on April 2, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Debbie was born on July 1, 1957, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Darrell and Mary Watts. She grew up in White City and attended Hillcrest High School, where her bold spirit and love for a good time were already impossible to miss.
Shortly after graduating, Debbie chased adventure to Hawaii, where she began her career and fully embraced life on her own terms. She later returned to Utah and went on to build more than a career, she built a legacy! Alongside Michael Kampros, she spent over 30 years operating Club 90, creating a place where friendships were forged, stories got better with time, and the party never really stopped.
On May 6, 1984, Debbie married Bruce “Strawberry” Powelson. Together they built a life around a small farm, raising two boys in a home full of energy, grit, and love. She was the proud mother of Cole and Darrell Powelson, a loving mother-in-law to Ashley, and a devoted grandmother to Nova, Ellie, Emmett, and Enzo. She also held a special place in her heart for Dobnei Remington, whom she welcomed as a daughter. But Debbie didn’t stop at her own family. If you knew her, there’s a good chance she treated you like one of her own.
Debbie was a force. She loved to entertain, had a gift for keeping the good times rolling, and never needed an excuse to celebrate. She was a wild child in the best sense. Fearless, fun, and unapologetically herself. She lived loud, loved hard, and did everything all the way.
And through it all, she showed up. Her family always came first. She was tough, loyal, and fiercely protective of the people she loved.
Debbie leaves behind a legacy of unforgettable memories, lifelong friendships, and a standing invitation to live a little bigger, laugh a little louder, and not take life too seriously.
A celebration of life will be held in Draper, Utah, where friends and family will gather—just as Debbie would have wanted. So let's raise a glass, share stories, and keep the party going.
