Joining the love of her life, Diane Ludlow White passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, in Nephi, Utah. Diane was born on March 30, 1949 in Payson, Utah to John Mark Ludlow and Edna Mae Loveless. She grew up surrounded by family, faith and music.
Family was everything to Diane. She loved helping her daddy at the family-owned business, Nephi Lumber, and learning to make an amazing potato salad with her mom. She started studying the piano at age seven and was an advanced pianist.
Diane married her high school sweetheart, Ivol Vard White, on July 22, 1965. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Their boys came every third year; Shawn Mark, Kevin Michael and Christopher Vard. Together they started Vard’s Drive-in and operated it for 27 years. Diane worked for Avon for over 40 years, winning many awards and memorable vacations that she shared with her husband. She loved the ladies she met and managed through Avon; they have been lifelong friends. Diane not only collected Avon but many memorabilia from her travels. Following the passing of Vard in 2013, Diane married Michael Lofgran in 2017; Michael passed in 2018.
Diane was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving as ward and primary pianist and chorister for many years, accepting all callings happily including Relief Society president, and scout leader. Almost every day, Diane would take soup and homemade bread to someone in the ward. The hymns and primary songs were always in her heart and she loved to sing them, and nursery rhymes, to her babies, grandbabies and grandma-great babies. Diane was addicted to soap operas, driving fast, dark chocolate, pomeranians and the theatre.
We often wondered how such a big personality could come from such a small stature. Our lively and spirited mom will continue to entertain us by all the tender memories she has given us.
Diane is survived by her sons Shawn (Sonya) White and Kevin (Vikki) White, 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren (who call her grandma-great), brother Stephen (Gloria) Ludlow, sister Carol (Rick) Deaton, sister-in-law Marcille Gilley, brother-in-law Hap (Bonnie) White and bonus sister Beverly Fullmer. Preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son Christopher, brother Johnnie (Gayle) Ludlow, brothers-in-law Shannon (Gayle) White, Steve White, Ladd (Jesse) White, Fred White and Keith Fullmer.
The family is very grateful and would like to thank ‘The Friends’, Dr. James Rosenbeck, Heather Eddington and her staff at Laurel Groves Assisted Living Center and her friend and co-jokester Marie Christensen.
