Earl Jay Keele

Earl Jay Keele, 92, of Nephi, Utah, passed away on September 15, 2026.

Born on August 13, 1934, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Othea Whiting and Elwood Elias Keele, Earl lived a full and meaningful life centered on family, faith and hard work.

He married the love of his life, Sherran Dee Higley, on November 27, 1955, in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 5, 1958. Sherran preceded him in death on March 19, 2019.

Earl was a devoted father to five children: Shawna Kay Schnurr, Leslie Ann Pascual, Annette Clydene Farnworth, Anthony Clay Keele, and Melody Lynn Mattingly. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and his brothers, Ronald Keele of Pingree, Idaho and Larry Mecham of Mud Lake, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sherran, his daughter Melody, and his brother Richard Keele.

A devoted father, grandfather, and friend, Earl's quiet strength, kindness, and memory will be deeply cherished by all who knew and loved him.

Graveside service will be Friday, September 25, 2026 at 2:30 pm at the Groveland Cemetery, 426 West 200 North, Blackfoot, Idaho.
