"Lady Ellen"
Ellen Adamson, the legendary "Lady Ellen," passed away on April 12, 2026 at age 88. Born June 8, 1937, in a Hurricane, Utah tent, her arrival was marked by a snake slithering into the canvas-an omen for a life where she faced her fears to do what had to be done. A dance prodigy by age 12, Ellen became the fierce headliner of the SLC avant-garde scene at the Salt Laker Lounge, built for her by her husband Mac Adamson. As the "High Priestess", she captivated audiences with her dance of the seven veils and her 8 foot snake, Satan, gaining fame on a national Paul Harvey broadcast. For years, she was a beloved fixture of Kimball's Junction known for her "whimsical defiance" and the 15 foot leprechaun on her roof. Following her time there, Ellen dedicated her life to others as a compassionate nurse, a profession she held with great pride. She also served as lead costume designer for her son's Academy of Performing Arts. Ellen spent her final hours with her daughter Robyn and granddaughters Kijana and Tracie. At 6:30 am, with her knees shaking but her spirit resolute she took her final steps through the seventh veil.
Family: survived by children: Terry Kip Hollings, Kandace Faun Hollings (Lee), Colling Ekart Kreuzer, and Robyn Ellen Adamson; siblings Judy and Troy, and a beloved tribe of grandchildren, great grandchildren. Preceded by parents Elworth and Myrle Campbell; Husband Mac Adamson; son Larry Kim Hollings; siblings Merlyn, Darnell, and Dale.
