Emma Jane Green Prince

Our beloved mother, Emma Jane Green Prince, 94, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2023. She returned home after a full life well-lived.

Emma was born on June 10, 1928 to Charles Robert Green and Blanche Jones and spent her childhood years in Huntington, Emery County. After graduating from Emery High School, she moved to Salt Lake City where she attended Quish Beauty College. She enjoyed working part time as a beautician from a shop in her home for 40 years. She married her sweetheart, Kenneth Prince, on November 10, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had a wonderful life together and enjoyed 65 happy years of marriage, making their home in Sandy, Utah.

Emma was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving faithfully in many callings including Relief Society and Young Women’s president. She was also very involved in community service, serving as an election judge and registrar, as an area chairman for Pennies by the Inch, as a founding member of the Kultura Club and in many PTA responsibilities.

Emma loved people. She was fun and sociable and had many lifelong friends. She loved to cook, entertain and hold bridge parties in her home. She was a talented singer and loved performing as a member of the Treble Aires singing group. Travel was also a passion and she enjoyed seeing the world with her husband Ken.

Her most proud accomplishment was that of being a mother. She loved her 5 children and their spouses, her 33 grandchildren and her 58 great-grandchildren. She delighted in their accomplishments and looked forward to their visits.

Emma is survived by four of her children: Rob (Diane) Prince, Centerville, Alan (Michelle) Prince, Sandy, Colleen (Mitch) Bailey, Heber, and Karen (Tim) Powell, South Jordan. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her son Kenneth Dwight, and her 5 siblings, Wilma, Edna, Lilas, Reginald, and Dennis.

Her family is deeply grateful for the loving and kindhearted care provided by the Harmony Home Health and Hospice team at Solstice Senior Living in Sandy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11 at 11:00 am, with a viewing prior to that at 10:00 am, at the LDS chapel at 275 East 10600 South in Sandy.
