Eric passed away at home in the early morning hours of Friday, January 23, 2026 from poor health.
He was born November 17, 1973 in Cedar City, Utah. He also lived in Delta, Holden and Castle Dale before moving with his family to Nephi in December 1987.
He graduated from Juab High School and worked hard for many years at Harmon Tire. He was a dedicated employee.
He was an elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a stake missionary and a few other callings.
He was quite literally the best friend a person could have. He was charitable and freely gave most anything he had to friends in need. He was quite the comedian, and would say off the wall, out of the blue, funny things often.
He was a special son, brother and uncle, and he struggled with mental illness for decades and dealt with hardships that most simply cannot fathom. He was courageous and pushed through daily battles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunt Linda Speirs, uncle Scott Speirs, uncle Mark Nichols, uncle Milt Cooper, aunt Catherine Nichols, cousins Brandon Owens, Austin Owens and Brian Nichols.
He is survived by his parents Shirl and Dianne Nichols, siblings Travis (CaMee) Nichols, Anthonie Nichols, David (Genevieve) Nichols, Matthew (Chelsey) Nichols, and Stephanie Nichols Hill, and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 6-8 pm at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, Nephi.
A viewing will be held at 10 am and the funeral will follow at 11 am on Monday, February 2, 2026 at the LDS Chapel at 222 South 100 East, Nephi, Utah.
The burial will follow in the Vine Bluff Cemetery, 1200 North 400 East, Nephi, Utah.
