Ernest (Ernie) Carlston Booth

After proclaiming to be invincible, we regret to inform everyone that this is not the case. Ernest Carlson Booth “Ernie”, 64, passed away on June 15, 2024 at the Mervyn Sharp Bennion Central Utah Veterans Home In Payson due to health issues.

Born to Glade Edwin Booth and Natalie Russell on July 27, 1959 in Santa Maria, California. The family later moved to Utah, where he attended schools in Nephi. Graduating from Juab High school in 1977. He has been living on the edge ever since.

Enlisting in the Utah National Guard was one of his proudest moments. He served in several wars such as Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom. He was a member of the special forces. Finalizing as a dedicated and honored soldier for over 27 years. During that tenure, he served his community in many roles as a police officer, sheriff, search and rescue, and highway patrol in Utah for over 9 years. Lastly, becoming a professional truck driver.

The love of rodeo kept bringing him back. Participating in Bull Riding and Roping. Competing in too many rodeos to count. An avid PRCA member that won the 2022 bull riding championship in the 60’s division.

Ernie had a big personality and was loved by many. Whether you were hunting, camping, or attending rodeo shenanigans, he always had a big story or an inappropriate joke that would brighten your day. The world is going to be a lot dimmer without him in it.

Survived by his wife, Jill. Mother Natalie (Russ) Nelson. Children, Tyson Booth, Melissa (Mike) Hardy, Mindy (Jesse) Witt, and Braden Booth. Siblings, Frieda (Dave) Nattress, Anthony Booth, Rabyn (Brandon) Baker, and Ryan Booth. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his Father, Glade Edwin Booth

Graveside services will be held Monday, July 1, 2024 at 10 am at The Vine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi, Ut. Tracy Booth will provide a dedication to the grave.
