George Walter Swinden

George Walter Swinden (Walt), 97, loving father and friend, passed away on November 10, 2022 in Sandy, Utah. He was born on February 11, 1925 in Houston, Texas. Walt joined the Navy when he was 17 and was a WWII Veteran. He married Esther Elbert and together they had a daughter, Cindy.

Walt enjoyed working in the yard, hunting, fishing and had a love for animals. The family had horses and two special dogs, a Rhodesian Ridgeback and a yellow Lab, both named Max.

He was a pool shark and was hard to beat. He also loved to teach people how to play.

Walt was very appreciative of any kindnesses that were shown to him and had a special place in his heart for children.

Survived by his daughter, Cindy Graffam, grandchildren, Casey Freeman (Chuck) and Dan Graffam (Rachael), great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Daphne and Esther.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at the Cedarwood at Sandy, 10970 South 700 East, Sandy, Utah 84070.

We love and will miss you Walt.
