Gordon Newton

Gordon Lee Newton was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He left this world to be reunited with his loved ones August 30th, 2023 at the age of 76 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Gordon worked construction and traveled a lot for his work. He loved to work and loved his family. He loved work so much he retired four times. He worked to support three generations of his family. He loved working in his shop and would make amazing things from scrap wood. He could build anything his mind could imagine. Gordon grew up and raised his children in Mona and loved the community. He has been the Mayor of Mona, Fire Chief and was the President of the Lion’s Club. He also served in the National Guard. Gordon and his wife ran the Mona drive-in at two different times in their life and loved serving the community.

The simple things in life brought Gordon great joy. He loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, working in his yard, and visiting with friends. Gordon was reunited in death to his wife Patricia Fisher, father and mother Percy and Erma Newton, brother and sisters Jerry Newton, Cola Jensen, Veda Scofield and great grandson Skyler Newton. He is survived by sons Tony Newton, Christopher Newton, daughters Melanie Newton, Natalie Newton and many loved grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the hospice workers for the great care and compassion they gave Gordon and his family.

There will be a viewing held Tuesday, September 5th from 6-8 PM at Anderson Funeral Home in Nephi, Utah. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 6th at 11 AM, viewing 1 hour prior at Mona 3rd & 4th Ward Church, 65 West 800 South, Mona, Utah.
