Grant Stanley White

Grant Stanley White, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on May 8, 2025, at the age of 74. He was born to Stanley and Florence White on May 5, 1951, in American Fork, Utah.

Grant spent his early years in Ogden, Utah, where he attended elementary and junior high school. His family later moved to Morrison, Colorado, where he completed his high school education. After graduation, he faithfully served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Western States Mission, based in Sacramento, California, where he shared the gospel in Spanish. He continued to read the Book of Mormon in Spanish nightly out loud and enjoyed listening to Spanish music often.

Among his many callings, he served as an Executive Secretary for three bishoprics and as a counselor in the Elders Quorum. For over 20 years, he faithfully prepared the monthly ward newsletter and weekly Sunday bulletins.

In 1977, Grant earned his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. He was a dedicated, hard-working man who found joy in his family, his faith, and the satisfaction of a job well done. His skills as a handyman were evident in the countless DIY projects he took on with care and creativity.

Grant had a lifelong appreciation for the quirky and unique. He was a collector of items that sparked curiosity and nostalgia, from Mad magazines to cereal boxes and clip art. He kept his collection, and nearly everything else, remarkably organized, including his books. His wit was dry, sharp, and unforgettable, often catching those around him pleasantly off guard.

Above all, Grant’s heart belonged to his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Steve, and his brother-in-law Lamont Knudsen. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marilyn Vickers White, and their four sons: David (Cathy), Kevin (Robin), Travis (Elise), and Brian (Chiavan); 12 grandchildren; and his siblings Joyce, Carolyn, David, and Janice. His love also extended to his dogs, who were never far from his side and brought him daily joy.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1125 N 400 E, Nephi, Utah.

Interment will follow at Vine Bluff Cemetery, 1200 N 400 E, Nephi, Utah.
