Helga Ortega, 85, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. A beacon of warmth, love and compassion passed away peacefully at her home on June 19th, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on July 25th, 1938, to Maria. Helga grew up in Mannheim Germany with her family Erica and Renate Hylinski. She was raised by her grandparents Oma and Opa. She met her husband Balbino Ortega in Germany. They later moved to the United States where Helga lived life to the fullest. The word “cannot” was not in her vocabulary; she always found a way to get it done and make magic happen for her and her family.
She enjoyed coaching baseball, announcing at baseball games, coaching football, playing football and coaching soccer while her children were young. Helga had a wonderful bond with her 7 kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helga also enjoyed cooking, gardening and shopping. She could never pass up a dollar store trip or a blue light special.
Throughout all the trials and turmoil in Helga’s life she had always had a strong faith and relationship with God. Helga believed in paying it forward and giving to those in need. She never passed up an opportunity to share what little she may have had with the less fortunate. Helga was always looking for a way to help others and those in need.
There is so much more we could share about Helga; in summary she was a beautiful light in this world that was just full of joy, was a preeminent pilar to her family and all that knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed and cherished by everyone she leaves behind.
Helga was preceded in death by her parents, Oma and Opa, Balbino Ortega (Husband), Silv Hylinski (Daughter), Michael Ortega (Son), Christian Foote (Grandson), Candie Ortega (Daughter in law), Jolynn Frantz (Granddaughter), Albino Ortega (Father in Law), Guadelupe Ortega (Mother in Law), Berlinda Ortega (Sister in Law), Priscilla Valdez (Sister in Law), Roy Ortega (Brother in Law), Carlos Ortega (Brother in Law), Phillip Ortega (Brother in Law), Loretta Gonzales (Sister in Law)
