Hank passed away at home on January 20, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was able to see and speak with all of his grandchildren, and he spent his final moments with his wife and his two sons by his side.
Henry “Hank” Pannunzio Jr. was born on March 4, 1955, in Tooele, Utah, to Henry and Antoinette Xaiz Pannunzio. He grew up in Tooele, a place he always proudly called home.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John Pannunzio, and his sister Philomena Ahlstrom.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Wilson) Pannunzio, and his sons Luciano Pannunzio (Melissa) and Joseph Pannunzio (Angela); his cherished grandchildren, Simmone, Mossimo, Izabella, and Antonio Pannunzio and Isabella DeLagerheim; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Hank proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1973 to 1975. After his service, he worked at the Tooele Army Depot before beginning a long and dedicated 30-year career with the phone company.
He was a man of many passions and talents. Hank loved riding his Harley with his “brothers”on long trips, restoring and working on Studebakers, hunting, fishing, and archery. An accomplished silversmith, he took joy in working with his hands and perfecting his craft.
Hank was also deeply involved in various groups at the VA, His dear friend Max wrote: “Hank demonstrated a level of emotional maturity, modulation, and awareness that is rare in the modern world. He motivated many of us to make positive changes in our lives simply by setting the example. His presence will be deeply missed.”
Above all, Hank was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a loving papa. He cherished his family and found his greatest joy in time spent with them. Known for his wicked sense of humor, he could always be counted on for a laugh, a story, or a harmless trick.
He will be remembered always for his laughter, love, and the unforgettable presence he brought into the lives of everyone who knew him.
