Hildegard Schmidt Casey

Hildegard Schmidt Casey was born on September 14, 1945 near Hanover, Germany. She peacefully passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease on June 29, 2024 in Washington, Utah. 

Hildegard immigrated with her parents Hans and Grete Schmidt and siblings to America in 1952. She grew up in Beaver Falls, PA where she attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and grade school where she learned to speak English. She graduated from Beaver Falls High School and later was employed at several secretarial positions in California. She met the love of her life Harvey Casey in Anaheim, CA and spent 36 years in a happy and fulfilled marriage which included Harvey’s five grown children and their families which greatly added to her life and joy.

Hildegard was preceded in death by her husband Harvey, on December 21, 2023. Also preceding her in death are her parents Hans and Grete Schmidt, her brother Hans-Dieter and a sister Karin.

Surviving are her sister Sigrun (Sigi) Schmidt Rutherford (Bob) of Williamsburg, VA, her brother Norbert W. Schmidt (Marianne) of Scottsdale, AZ. Also surviving are the much loved Harvey’s children: Keith Casey (Kim), Kevin Casey (Michelle), Ron Casey (Barbara), Sue Casey McNall (Mike) and Alan Casey (Kathleen) and their families.

A private memorial service will be held in Draper Utah July 12, 2024 at 11am.

Arrangements are handled by Anderson & Goff Mortuary in Draper, UT.
