Jack Charles Dodd

Jack Charles Dodd, 76, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, after courageously enduring colon cancer. He was born on February 26, 1947, in Kaysville, Utah to Jack and Rose Dodd.

As the son of a military father, Jack spent much of his childhood moving throughout the United States, learning early how to adapt and connect wherever he went. His family eventually settled in Dillon, Montana during his high school years. While attending school, Jack worked on a ranch in nearby Jackson, Montana with his uncle and cousin. He would take the bus into Dillon each day, balancing school and hard work—an experience that helped shape the strong work ethic and quiet determination he carried throughout his life.

After high school, Jack married Vicky, and together they welcomed two children, Jamie and Jeff. Though their marriage later ended, Jack was proud to be their father and carried that role with love throughout his life. He later married Margaret, and they made their home in Missoula, Montana for nearly 20 years. It was during those years that Jack became a devoted fan of the Montana Grizzlies. He proudly wore Grizzlies gear wherever he went, always eager to support his team and share his enthusiasm with others.

Jack later moved to Lewiston, Idaho, where he served as general manager of the local Toyota car dealership. He also enjoyed spending time working at the local radio station, where his friendly personality and love of conversation made him a natural fit. Jack had a remarkable talent for selling cars, not because he was pushy, but because he genuinely cared about helping people find the right vehicle for their lifestyle. His integrity and sincerity earned him the trust of countless customers and friends. He later became part-owner of a dealership in Moscow, Idaho. It was there that he met and married Judy Rosenbeck. They shared 26 years of marriage.

Jack and Judy eventually returned to Montana, settling in Kalispell, Montana, where Jack found some of his happiest moments fishing on Flathead Lake. Being out on the water brought him a deep sense of peace, but what he loved most was sharing it with others. He patiently taught others how to fish, taking great pride in their excitement and accomplishments. Later they moved to St. George, Utah, and Jack bought a fishing boat and eagerly took the kids out whenever they visited. He loved letting them take turns at the wheel, watching with pride as they learned and grew more confident. His patience, kindness, and encouragement made those days unforgettable.

Later, Jack and Judy moved to Nephi, Utah after Jack was diagnosed with colon cancer, so Judy could be closer to her children. Jack loved to tease Judy, but his love and devotion to her were evident in everything he did. He always wanted to make her happy and took comfort in knowing she was surrounded by family.

One of Jack’s greatest joys was his granddaughter, Skylar, Jeff’s daughter. Jack and Judy traveled to Florida to visit her, and they often spoke about how much that trip meant to them and how special it was to spend time with that sweet, darling girl. Jack always spoke of Skylar with such pride and love.

Jack loved to work and found purpose in serving others. There was no project he wouldn’t take on. If he didn’t know how to do something, he would research it and return with a thoughtful plan. He took pride in doing things the right way, and his careful, meticulous approach earned the respect of everyone who knew him. His willingness to help and his quiet acts of service left a lasting impact on many lives.

Jack faced his illness with strength, dignity, and courage. He will be remembered for his kindness, patience, and humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Rose Dodd; his brothers, Frank Dodd, Scott Dodd, and Michael Dodd; and his sister, Karen Dodd.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his children, Jamie and Jeff; his cherished granddaughter, Skylar; his brother, Ian Dodd; his sister, Lynn Rathie; and the many family members and friends whose lives were enriched by his love, guidance, and example.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to those who cared for Jack in his final days and for the compassion shown to him and his loved ones.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
