Jean Marie Royce Fowkes

Jean Marie Royce Fowkes, 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on October 31, 2026.

Jean was born May 29, 1940, in Glendale, CA, to Donald Arthur and Bernice Barton Royce. When Jean was 13, the family moved to the Chase Ranch south of Levan.

Jean graduated from Juab High School, where she was a cheerleader and the FFA Sweetheart and attended the FFA convention. Jean married her high school sweetheart, Lee Thomas Fowkes, on Sept. 4, 1959, in the Manti LDS Temple.

Jean enjoyed all of her church callings. She especially loved doing family history and temple work. Jean loved spending time with Lee and enjoyed their many adventures, including traveling the country on their motorcycle, camping trips, and horseback rides in the mountains.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Bernice Royce; her brother, Robert Royce; and her great-granddaughter, Sadie Jo Oswald.

She is survived by her husband, Lee Fowkes; her brothers, Michael Royce and Dale Royce; and her children, Kevin Lee Fowkes (Michelle), Jill (Phillip) Painter, Rachelle (Michael) Lynn, and Blake Royce Fowkes (Kristine). Jean has 17 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren, with three more on the way. They are the light of her life.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 9, at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Nephi 1st, 2nd, and 7th Ward building, 222 South 100 East.

A viewing will also be held Sunday, Nov. 8, at Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
