Joseph Edwin Wall

Joseph Edwin Wall, age 76, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born in Salt Lake City to Otto and Vera Wall, Joe graduated from South High School in 1968, attended West Point Military Academy, and served in the Facilities Operations Group for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 36 years.

Joe married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Mower, on June 3, 1971. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 2, 1972. A gifted vocalist, Joe's greatest passion outside his family was singing with the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square for 22 years, including performances during the 2002 Winter Olympics. He was known for his deep faith, service to others, and trademark dad jokes.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; their 7 children: Melinda (Matthew) Burg, Lara (Jason) White, Liana (Travis) Baddley, Jeremy (Marci) Wall, Shanna (James) Anderson, Sarah (Christopher) Douglas, and Steven (Rosie) Wall; 31 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nephew, Jim and niece, Marjorie. He was preceded in death by his parents and four half-siblings.

The family extends special thanks to Aspen Ridge Hospice and Jan Mills.

Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 10375 S. Leilani Dr, Sandy, UT. An evening viewing will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 6:30-8:30 pm. The Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026 at 12:00 PM with a viewing from 10:30 to 11:45 AM also at the church. Interment to follow services at the Utah Veteran’s Memorial Park, 17111 S. Camp Williams Rd., Bluffdale.
