Judy Lee Brown-Hoagland

"Nothing lasts forever, and nothing stays the same."

Judy Lee Brown-Hoagland, 74, of Nephi, Utah, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 30, 2022 She was the daughter of Harold Lee Hoagland and Mary Alice Yocum, born on August 9, 1948 in Tecumseh, Michigan.

She graduated from Dundee High School in 1966. She then went on to study at the University of Southern Maine (class of 1982). Judy always needed to stay busy and loved to learn, so she continued to expand her education through life: acquiring her RN, BSN, HFA, and several others.

Judy spent most of her working life in the healthcare industry, starting as a nursing assistant in the 70s. Following graduation worked as an R.N. in the early 80s before working up to the director of nursing services for several different hospitals thru the rest of the 80s. she ended her career with her retirement in 2014 as a pediatrics department manager with intermountain healthcare.

Her employees loved her. They said she was no nonsense, but she had a great sense of humor, and Judy always made everyone feel important and appreciated.

She enjoyed so many things in this life like the morning sun and the shimmering dew that it brought, the quiet mornings, travel, adventure, cooking, learning, teaching, being a caregiver, and most of all family, friends, and love.

Judy married Karl Joseph Stumpf on November 17, 1969, and later divorced in 1977. Together, they had Brenda Llewelyn. Judy later met her eternal husband, Leonard Howard Brown. They were married on May 4, 1985, in Elko, Nevada, blessing her with Joseph Brown, Valerie Brice, Keith Brown, Sonja Brown, and Jon Brown. Her and Leonard were sealed in the Jordan River Temple, Jordan, Utah, on July 20 1991. Leonard later passed with Judy by his side on February 9, 2005.

She is survived by her six children (Brenda, Joseph, Valerie, Keith, Sonja, Jon), nineteen grandchildren (Katelyn, Emily, Ashley, Rachael, Ian, Felicity, CJ, Mark, Robbie, Steven, Bryan, Mikayla, Mariah, Joy, Chloe, Jakob, Summer, Cameron, Ridge), brothers, sisters, friends, and many others she truly cared about.
