Justyn Leroy Larsen, 45, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Born on March 26, 1981, to Kathryn and Gary Larsen, Justyn embraced life with a sense of humor and a big heart.
A proud Marine Corps veteran, Justyn honorably served for 8 years in the Marine Corps Reserve, a testament to his loyalty and strong sense of duty. But if you asked him where he felt most like himself, it was behind the bar. Justyn truly loved working as a bartender, effortlessly sharing stories and turning strangers into friends with his warmth and quick wit. Justyn’s final career move was to Fike Industrial Construction, where he loved working for more than 5 years.
Of all the titles Justyn held, his most treasured was "Dad." His world completely shifted in August 2015 when he and Sarah Thomas welcomed their son, Spencer Leroy Larsen, whom they adore beyond measure. Justyn and Spencer shared an unbreakable bond, and Spencer was truly the center of his universe. Whether they were hitting the golf course, going swimming, chasing thrills at Lagoon, or enjoying a driveway campfire, Justyn made sure Spencer’s childhood was packed with laughter, adventure, and unconditional love.
Holidays with family were filled with joy, lively competition, and special traditions. Justyn especially loved gathering around the table for game nights, showcasing his card-playing talents, and sharing his favorite comfort food: mashed-potato sandwiches.
Justyn leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. He is survived by his beloved son, Spencer; his loving parents, Kathryn and Gary Larsen; his brother, Steve Larsen; and his loyal cat Tia.
In the only way Justyn would have wanted it, a casual Celebration of Life will be held to share memories, swap stories, and honor a man who loved others deeply, served others proudly, and made every moment count.
The Celebration of Life will be held at Goff Mortuary located at 8090 S. State St., Midvale, Utah on Friday, August 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Casual attire is requested.
