Kathleen Marie Nostrom

Kathleen Marie (Dudley) Nostrom of Spanish Fork, Utah passed away peacefully at home on June 13th 2024 of natural causes at the age of 88 years young. She was born to Myrvin Dudley and Myrtle Ester (Mortensen) Dudley in Spanish Fork, Utah on September 28th 1935. She married Wayne Charles Welch July 7th 1951 in the state of New Mexico where she had 6 children with Wayne Welch named Kent Welch, Robert Welch, David Welch, Lana (Welch) Ruggirello, Gary Porter, and Wanda Porter. Kathleen completed her college degree in Early Childhood Development. She later became the administrator for the head start program serving 3 counties in the State of Utah. 

In 1972 she then married John Porter in the State of Utah. John proceeded to adopt, Gary and Wanda at which point they assumed the Porter name. They were married until Johns passing on April 23rd of 2005 in Utah. 

She later reconnected with her high school sweetheart Vee Nostrom and the two were happily married until Vees passing. Their marriage was later sealed in the temple. 

She was proceeded in death by her brothers Ralph Dudley and Glen Dudley as well as her two sisters Leah Snelson and Gene Hutchings. She was also proceeded by her sons Kent Welch, Robert Welch, and David Welch. 

She is survived by her 3 children Lana Ruggirello, Gary Porter, and Wanda Porter. She also had 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Kathleen loved to travel, her teaching career, and she was always dedicated to serving God through her works with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her love for her family was evident from her continual support for her children and grandchildren. Kathleen will be missed dearly as one of the strongest, smartest, and most beautiful souls to walk this earth.
