Kathryn Burnham

Kathryn Burnham passed away peacefully with family by her side on January 28, 2026 at Spring Gardens Midvale Assisted Living Center under the care of Canyon Home Care and Hospice.

Kathy was born on July 7, 1949 to Wilmer Parley and Madeline Horton Burnham in Lovell, Wyoming. She was sandwiched in-between an older brother and younger twin brothers. At the age of eight her family moved to Littleton Colorado.

Kathy graduated from Arapahoe High School, Arapahoe Community College and the University of Colorado with a BS degree in Physical Therapy and later earned a certificate in Pediatric Physical Therapy. She worked as a physical therapist for Granite School District in Salt Lake City. She also served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Costa Rica San Jose Mission.

After she was no longer able to continue her work as a physical therapist, she devoted her life to doing genealogy work, serving in the Midvale Family History Center for many years, doing temple work and lovingly serving many, many of her friends and acquaintances. She also took an interest in wood carving for which excelled and won many blue ribbons at shows. She loved her flowers and had a green thumb for her many house plants. She was also known, especially to her family, for her free “Bed and Breakfast” as they came to or through Salt Lake City.

She will be remembered and loved for her kindness, love and service to all those who knew her.

Kathy is survived by her brothers Jon Charles (Vicki) Burnham of Iona, ID and Dan Eugene (and the late Anne) Burnham of Tucson, AZ, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Don Leslie Burnham.
