Kenneth P. Hanks

Kenny Hanks was born on September 2, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Floyd and Pauline Hanks.

He peacefully passed away on March 24th, 2022 in Salt Lake.

Kenny loved downtown Salt Lake and lived there his entire life. He was a passionate cook who worked for various restaurants and clubs throughout the city. He was dedicated to his profession up until he physically couldn't work any longer.

Kenny was a sweet caring gentleman who had a soul unlike any other. He always had a way of having everyone in the room laughing and smiling with his goofy antics and hilarious jokes.

He loved horror movies and collected every horror movie he could get his hands on. He loved spending an evening binge watching horror movies, eating pizza and drinking his Coke.

It was nothing to get a phone call from him talking about the last Bigfoot documentary he watched or to discuss aliens. He was a character!

You always found yourself leaving his place with a smile on your face and an arm full of gifts. He always had something to give you every time you visited him.

He had a memory like no other and could tell you a story from 50 years ago and remember the date and time of everything that happened. It was easy to get caught up listening to all the stories he had growing up.

Kenny, you made a huge impact during your time here on earth. You will be deeply missed.

Kenny is preceded in death by his Father Floyd, mother Pauline, sister Pam and brother Rick.

He is survived by his youngest brother Mick (Sherri) Hanks, oldest brother Jim Hanks, youngest sister Wendy Hanks and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held Monday, March 28th from 6 pm - 8 pm at Goff Mortuary on 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah.

All who knew Kenny are welcome to come pay your respects.
