With love and deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Kristy Sue Sorenson, who passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, while asleep.
Kristy was preceded in death by her amazing parents, Keo and Koye Sorenson.
She is survived by her brothers, Kody Sorenson and his family, and Kurt and Wendie Sorenson and their family, along with many beloved nieces and nephews who brought her great joy throughout her life. Her Aunts and Uncles and extended family who filled her heart.
Kristy was an active and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a deep and abiding conviction of her Father in Heaven and her Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved to serve wherever she could and had a genuine love for all those she associated with. She had a special place and love in her heart for the many members of her Ward she loved and spoke of them always.
Throughout her life, Kristy endured many years of health challenges with remarkable strength, resilience, and determination. Through each trial, she maintained a tenacious desire to keep living and uplifted those around her with her courage and spirit.
Kristy was a woman of many talents. She had a special gift for drawing and painting and especially loved working with watercolors. She cherished being called “Auntie,” a title that brought her great joy, and she loved speaking about her nieces and nephews.
She found happiness in simple connections—her love for dogs, staying in touch through Facebook, and reaching out to others whenever she could. Kristy built a meaningful and supportive community and truly valued the relationships she formed throughout her life.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Kristy’s extended community—her ward members, dear friends, neighbors, companions, confidants, and caregivers. Your kindness, love, and support meant more than words can express. Kristy treasured each of you and found great comfort in your presence.
The family also extends sincere appreciation to her doctors and medical teams, whom she admired greatly, for their compassion and care.
Kristy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her strength, her kindness, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
Kristy, "WE LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK"
